Flowerbeds

Sala Margana
Rome

19 - 21 October 2012
New paintings on copper and zinc, divided into two principle themes: the small paintings of flowers and plants are part of a project whose seed was planted with an exhibition in 2012, 'The Garden', which explored ideas rooted in the biblical Garden of Eden. The beds are connected to the paintings of the exhibition 'The Wounded Soul', in which a woman lived through the pain of her abandonment wrapped in the folds of her bedsheets. In this case the bed is no longer a place of abandonment, but rather of the lives that are lived during the night. These beds are empty, but were recently occupied, the folds of the sheets still hold on to the imprint of the bodies that have lain there as they dreamt.
